London Fashion Week SS16 Street Style Round Up

London Fashion Week is one of my favourites, in and out the runways. You can always count on England’s capital for quirky, layered, colourful looks, complete with unique headgear and full of originality.

One of the best things about London’s street style is how unapologetic it is, and how you see different people with different styles who don’t depend on designer items or fresh-off-the-runway pieces.

Street Style: Directional Onyx

This Londoner is presenting a street style look that is of cool avant-garde aesthetic. I love this look because it explores true personal style, the look pays attention to detail with regards to artistry and cut of the pieces, which is all so fundamental in formulating fashion forward ensemble such as this one. Looking for more vibrant fashion pieces? David Bowie was not only iconic in the music industry, but the fashion industry as well. This piece shown above could be categorized by David Bowie’s 70’s “Soul Bowie” look.

Speaking of avant-garde pieces, urban-street wear is the perfect setting to try something new, maybe try a pop of colour!

Street Style: Camel Trench Coat

Camel Intentions

Trench Coat

I was instantly drawn to this ensemble, the trench coat is a timeless style pick I’ve been wanting to invest in for a while now, it’s a piece that you can create many stylish looks with, just like this fashion forward street style look.

The outfit is fairly simple and is made up of style picks which are likely to already be in our wardrobes. The complete outfit sees ripped black skinnies which are a versatile wardrobe basic everyone should own, a dark grey tee and a light camel trench coat which is the key piece to the look.

The fashionista has then accessorised with a black round brim hat, a black and gold statement necklace as well as white sneakers and a black tote to complete the look.
When shopping for this look, be watchful for what brands are real and fake. This make a difference when shopping for the best looks that compare to the runway.

Have fun shopping, accessories that pop pair well with this neutral color palette. This is a super comfy outfit you can adapt to suit your personal style where this attire would look just as cool paired with black pool sliders or mules for when the weather starts to cheer up come spring summer.

Street Style: Kathryn

Kathryn

Kathryn’s street style is Kamp and kitsch entwined with chic sophistication. Baby blue is an awesome colour a colour unlike many looks amazing as a full outfit. The top is from French Connection and is in a sheer blue chiffon fabric with detailing of a cute white satin collar. Working the sheer clothing trend is one of the hardest to pull off but Kathryn has done this remarkably well by introducing a white bra crop top underneath the translucent fabric of her top for that added depth and dimension to her look.

To continue the white and baby blue tones in the bottom half of her ensemble Kathryn is donning a pair of cloud print leggings from Black Milk with a pair of multi-coloured Nike kicks. Accessorising can really make or break a look, we love the way Kathryn has accessorised making her look pop by rocking a pair of leopard print designer sunnies and a metallic gold over the shoulder satchel.
