London Fashion Week SS16 Street Style Round Up

London Fashion Week is one of my favourites, in and out the runways. You can always count on England’s capital for quirky, layered, colourful looks, complete with unique headgear and full of originality.

One of the best things about London’s street style is how unapologetic it is, and how you see different people with different styles who don’t depend on designer items or fresh-off-the-runway pieces.

London Fashion Weekend: 19-22 September 2013

London Fashion Week kicks off on Friday with presentations from PPQ, Jasper Conran and Eudon Choi, but we’re already buzzing about what comes next. Vodaphone London Fashion Weekend will be taking over Somerset House, the ultimate LFW venue, from the 19th-22nd September and tickets are on sale now.

This is our chance to get an insider’s glimpse into the famously-inaccessible fashion world. Alongside more than fifty stylish pop-up shops (including Splendid Paige Denim, Joseph, House of Harlow and Linda Farrow), the British Fashion Council will be hosting runway shows.

Designer High or “Trend” Show?

Choose when you’re buying your ticket whether you’d rather see a designer highlight or a ‘trend’ show; we’re leaning towards the Shape Up show with Holly Fulton and Matthew Williamson, but there’s also Pretty in Pink, Back to Nature and Victoriana. If you opt for a designer highlight instead your options are PPQ, Giles, Holly Fulton, Julien Macdonald and Ashish.

The Vodaphone Lounge will be hosting talks from world-renowned stylists, editors and tastemakers: Hilary Alexander and the ELLE editorial team have stopped by in the past, and we’re awaiting confirmation of this year’s line-up. You can even add a TONI&GUY wash, cut and blow dry to your ticket to make sure you’re looking your best, or scoop an exclusive Sister by Sibling tote if you go for a ‘Shop & the Lot’ or ‘Shop & Bag’ ticket.

There’s a potentially confusing number of entry options on the London Fashion Weekend ticket page, so browse the website and tot up everything you want to see and do before you buy. Then all you need to do is decide between a day and evening ticket (the hours vary slightly each day), and work out what you’re going to wear.

London Fashion Weekend and LFW

But London Fashion Weekend isn’t the only way for non-insiders to get a taste of LFW. We’re also planning to attend a screening of The September Issue at Silent Cinema’s pop-up space in Covent Garden (they’ll be showing Grey Gardens and Zoolander too) and sip fashion-themed cocktails at The Mayfair Hotel. They’re launching their new shoe bar with a special collection of drinks for LFW, including the Strappy Sandal and Peep Toe.

And don’t forget that a lot of the runway shows will be streamed live online. Grab a front row seat in front of your laptop from Friday, and revel in the creativity that London’s so famous for.
